Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation looking for an entomologist

KOLKATA: Dengue, which had taken a pandemic extent in Salt Lake a year ago, is picking up energy this year as well. A year ago, nine people including a nine-year-old kid from BD Block had kicked the bucket of dengue in Salt Lake and Rajarhat.
In the midst of a dengue risk and at the pinnacle of the season, the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is as yet searching for an entomologist to lead its vector control group. As of now a couple of instances of testing dengue positive in NS-1 antigen test have begun to come in.
Bidhannagar enterprise MMIC (Health) Pranay Roy said that the municipal body has been confronting issue to name an entomologist as the specialists are yet to get an authorized post for the same. "There is still no endorsed post for the municipal body to have an entomologist. We have talked about with the state wellbeing division on this issue and have an exceptional authorization to select an entomologist on brief premise. The arrangement procedure is going ahead to draw in a resigned official who is master regarding this matter and we hope to delegate a man soon. The State Urban Development Agency has drawn in an entomologist to take care of some nearby metro bodies including Salt Lake," he said.
