As this eventful week is approaching its end, some of us have already started to make plans for the weekends. And those who are tired from all the hustle bustle and the commotion and mess happening in the name of free election, and want to just lie back at home and unwind, nothing helps better than to indulge into mind captivating TV series accompanied my fresh fruits and custards.

But what to watch?

Is your colleague pestering you to watch a particular one for days? Or is your best friend grilling you with opinions about different TV series? Are you wondering amidst the sea of underrated and overrated series which are the ones worth your time? Then it’s time for you to take a leap of faith and trust us with the list. Keeping the audience at the edge of their seats, these 5 TV shows are surely in the talk of Gen X.

1. Game of Thrones

Standing with an IMDb rating of 9.5/10, this show is probably the most talked about and also the most watched show in the recent past. With an outstanding cast doing justice to the characters and a thought provoking plot leaving the audience mind blown in all true sense, this show certainly tops my list. The plot is woven around several royal families fighting each other for power, desiring the Iron Throne in an urge to gain control of Westeros while a sinister force lurking beyond the Wall in the North impose a threat on all of mankind.

Seven seasons aired till date with ten episodes in the first six and seven in the seventh, this fantasy drama series is all that you'd need to feel awesome about American television.

2. Sherlock

Like the name suggests awesomeness, this miniseries is one in all true sense. Based on the modern day depiction of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories, this BBC production is an utter treat to the mind palace for thinkers and nerdy turtles. Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson is undoubtedly a treat to the eyes and a kick start to the thought process. Thirteen episodes with four three - part series from 2010 to 2017, and a special episode on 1st January 2016 has been aired till BBC called it a wrap breaking the heart of million Sherlock fans all across the globe.

P.S - Watch out for Moriarty stealing the show while you get all "Sher - locked"

3. Black Mirror

8.9/10, earned from the IMDb by this British science fiction anthology television series is a must watch for all the lovers of satire. Portraying the unanticipated consequences of modern science, this series airs standalone episodes examining modern society, usually set in an alternative present or future. The dark and satirical edge blended in perfect mix with the untimely consequences of progressive science makes the series' audience accustomed to dystopian fallacies. If at the back of your mind you know that you're a science buff or tech savvy, there shouldn't be any other series topping your list of must watch.

4. Gotham

"Batman would save the day."

DC fans are usually seen breathing, living and sleeping Batman. For them, Gotham is surely going to be much more than just an American drama series. Focusing on the evolution of Batman from young Bruce to the superhero and Gotham city before Batman, Gotham is a delight watch for all the comic lovers (well yes, which includes both Marvel and DC fans).

The series hero worship Captain James Gordon played by Ben McKenzie and also stars the evolution of the revolutionary character of Joker and several other Batman villains.

86 episodes divided in 4 seasons have been aired till date with an IMDb rating of 7.9/10.

5. Riverdale

Remember the colourful Archie comics that we used to read as kids in the newspaper comic columns? The wait for tomorrow's newspaper and the continuation of the story used to be killing.

Well, the wait is over now.

This American teen drama television series is all that you need in your must watch list. Based on the Archie Comics, the series was adapted by The CW and is produced under the big banner of Warner Bros. The story revolves around the students of Riverdale High and how their life changes after a supposed murder of one of their classmate. High on teen drama, this drama thriller has certainly made its place across the list of must watch for many Gen X.

33 episodes divided in 2 seasons have been aired while the series just geared up for the third season.
